Implementing Cisco Data Center AI Infrastructure is the serious one. Exam code 300-640, 90 minutes, $300 USD, English only. First testing opened on 9 February 2026 at Cisco Live Amsterdam.
It tests design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting of AI infrastructure across network, compute, storage and orchestration. Passing earns the Cisco Certified Specialist, Data Center AI Infrastructure certification. It also satisfies the concentration exam requirement for CCNP Data Center, which is the detail that changes the maths for anyone already on that track.
Cisco does not publish a question count for 300-640 on the official exam page. Treat any number you find on a third-party site as unconfirmed.
Cisco recommends the AI Solutions on Cisco Infrastructure Essentials (DCAIE) learning path as preparation, supplemented by Operate and Troubleshoot AI Solutions on Cisco Infrastructure (DCAIAOT). The DevNet track has been renamed to Automation, producing CCNA Automation, CCNP Automation and CCIE Automation. CyberOps became CCNA Cybersecurity (200-201), with a CCNP Cybersecurity above it. CCNP Security 350-701 moved to a v2.0 blueprint, and the CCIE lab gained an AI module. At associate level, CCNA itself changes to v2.0 on 3 February 2027.
