Exam Format & Details

The current CompTIA Network+ exam is N10-009. It includes a maximum of 90 questions, made up of multiple-choice and performance-based questions, and candidates have 90 minutes to complete the exam. The passing score is 720 on a scale of 100 to 900. The exam can be taken online through Pearson VUE OnVUE or in person at an authorised Pearson VUE test centre. Candidates book the exam by creating or logging into a CompTIA Central account, selecting the Network+ N10-009 exam, choosing a test centre or online testing option, picking a date and time, and paying by card or exam voucher. The official retail voucher price is listed by CompTIA at $369, while UK voucher pricing is commonly around £218 excluding VAT, or approximately £260 including VAT, depending on provider and current pricing.

Why Practice Questions Matter

Taking practice tests is one of the best ways to prepare for the CompTIA Network+ exam because it turns passive studying into active recall. Instead of simply reading about networking concepts, you are forced to recognise problems, apply knowledge, eliminate wrong answers, and make decisions under exam-style pressure. Practice tests also expose weak areas quickly, such as subnetting, wireless standards, routing concepts, troubleshooting, or network security, so you can focus your revision where it matters most. They also help you get used to the format of the exam, including scenario-based and performance-based questions, which can feel very different from normal study notes. Most importantly, regular practice builds speed, confidence, and exam discipline, reducing the chance of panic on test day and increasing the likelihood of passing first time.

Sample Practice Questions

The following questions are a preview of the type of syllabus-aligned questions you will practise in CertCrush. They reflect the format and reasoning style of the Comptia Network + exam — not actual exam content.

  • A.Layer 1
  • B.Layer 2
  • C.Layer 4
  • D.Layer 5
  • E.Layer 7

Domain: Networking Concepts

  • C.The relaying-and-recording stage is a denial of service attack
  • D.Dynamic ARP inspection would have no effect on this attack
  • E.The attack primarily violates availability

Domain: Network Security

Q4.A security team needs to identify the top talkers consuming bandwidth and record conversation metadata for years without storing payloads. Which data source BEST fits?
