The ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5) is the short route to the Version 5 Foundation certificate for people who already hold an ITIL 4 certification. It is 20 multiple-choice questions in 30 minutes, closed book, and it tests only what changed between ITIL 4 and Version 5. That is the whole point of it, and it is also the trap. Because you already know ITIL 4, the temptation is to skim. The exam does not reward that. It asks about the updated language, the reworked core concepts and the way Version 5 describes value creation and digital product and service management. A candidate who answers from ITIL 4 habit picks the option that was right under the old wording and is wrong under the new one. With 20 questions and a 65% pass mark, you can miss seven. Two or three careless misses on renamed terms use up most of that margin. This course gives you a study guide limited to the Version 5 changes, a bank of practice questions that mirrors the exam format, and flashcards for the terms that moved. Every question has an explanation that says why the right answer is right and which ITIL 4 assumption makes the wrong ones tempting. The Bridge module is scheduled to retire on 31 December 2027, so there is a fixed window to use it. Check PeopleCert's exam page for current pricing and eligibility before you book.

Exam Format & Details
20 multiple-choice questions, 30 minutes, closed book, 65% to pass (13 of 20). The exam covers ITIL Version 5 updates only. You need an existing ITIL 4 certification to sit it, excluding ITIL 4 Specialist: Acquiring and Managing Cloud Services and ITIL 4 Specialist: Sustainability in Digital and IT. PeopleCert lists the exam bundle at £199 including VAT.
Why Practice Questions Matter
A bridge exam is narrow, so every question counts for more. You cannot lean on broad knowledge to cover a gap, and you already know the ITIL 4 answer, which is exactly what the exam sets out to catch. Timed practice questions show you which Version 5 terms you still answer from habit. Reading the explanations after a miss is what replaces the old wording with the new, and you find out in practice rather than at the test centre.
