AB-730 is the exam behind the Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional credential. It is written for people who use AI at work, not for people who build it. You never write code or configure a tenant. You are expected to know what Microsoft 365 Copilot can do inside Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, and when a different tool is the better choice. The blueprint changed on October 20, 2026, and that matters if you studied from older material. Building and managing your own Copilot agents is gone from the exam. Agents now appear as something you select and apply, and Microsoft Copilot Cowork, which carries out multi-step tasks through skills while you review its plan, is new. Generative AI fundamentals is the heaviest domain at 25 to 30 percent, and the other three each take 20 to 25 percent. The fundamentals domain is where candidates lose marks they expected to keep. Questions ask how Work IQ and the app you are working in shape a response, how data protection limits what a prompt can return, and which check fits the task: a citation check, a human review, or both. Knowing that Copilot can be wrong is not enough. The exam asks you to choose the right safeguard for a stated situation. This course covers all four domains at their published weights, with practice questions written against the October 2026 objectives, flashcards for the terminology, and interactive items in the matching and ordering formats Microsoft uses.

Exam Format & Details

Microsoft's exam page gives AB-730 a 45 minute time limit and says the exam is proctored and may include interactive components. It does not publish an exact question count, so the 40 questions used here to size practice exams is an estimate. A score of 700 or greater on the 100 to 1000 scale is required to pass, which this course shows as 70 percent. Booking is through Microsoft Learn and delivery is by Pearson VUE. The exam is offered in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Pricing depends on the country or region where you sit the exam. The skills measured were updated on October 20, 2026.

Why Practice Questions Matter

AB-730 asks you to choose between tools that overlap: Copilot Chat, a prebuilt agent, a custom agent and Copilot Cowork can all look right for the same task. Reading about each one does not train that choice. Practice questions do, because each scenario forces you to pick one and then shows why the others fall short. They also show quickly whether you have studied the old objectives or the October 2026 ones, before exam day tells you.
