About the Microsoft AB-620 Exam
AB-620 sits between the Copilot Studio maker certifications and the architect track. It assumes you can already build a working agent with instructions, topics and a knowledge source, and tests whether you can take that agent into an enterprise: wiring it to Dataverse and ServiceNow, calling REST APIs and MCP servers, orchestrating several agents through the A2A protocol, and getting the result through solution-based ALM into a managed environment. The blueprint is weighted towards integration. Integrate and extend agents in Copilot Studio is 40 to 45 percent of the exam on its own, and it is the section candidates underestimate, because building an agent in the maker portal teaches you almost none of it. Connecting Azure AI Search as a generative-answers source, adding a tool from an existing custom connector, configuring computer use, and monitoring through Application Insights are separate skills from authoring topics. Planning is roughly a third of the paper and is mostly judgement: which identity model a customer-facing agent needs, when a Foundry agent belongs in the solution instead of a Copilot Studio one, what responsible-AI controls a deployment requires. Test and manage agents is the smallest section at 20 to 25 percent, and it is where the ALM questions live: solutions, environment variables and Power Platform pipelines. You need Power Fx, Dataverse and adaptive cards going in, plus working knowledge of RAG, orchestration and MCP. The exam runs 120 minutes and is scored out of 1000, with 700 to pass.

Exam Format & Details
120 minutes, proctored through Pearson VUE and booked from Microsoft Learn. Scored out of 1000 with 700 required to pass. Microsoft states the exam may include interactive components, so expect drag-and-drop and build-list items alongside multiple choice. Microsoft does not publish a fixed question count for AB-620; associate-level exams typically run to around 50 items.
Why Practice Questions Matter
The integration section is 40 to 45 percent of AB-620 and it is the part you cannot revise by reading. Questions name a specific constraint, such as an agent that must reach an on-premises SAP system or a knowledge source that has to stay inside a tenant boundary, and expect you to pick the connector, tool or protocol that satisfies it. Practice questions are the cheapest way to find out which of those you can actually tell apart under time pressure. The ALM section rewards the same drilling: solutions, environment variables and pipelines are easy to read and easy to confuse.
